Megan Pierce received a B.S. in chemical engineering with a double major in chemistry from The University of Alabama. As an undergraduate, she worked in Dr. Jack Dunkle’s lab where she determined crystallization methods for an erythromycin-resistant methyltransferase and investigated the mechanism of activity in type III CRISPR-Cas systems using site directed mutants. Outside of the lab, she enjoys playing volleyball and basketball, drinking coffee, crocheting, and spending time with her friends.
